Course Descriptions

Thursday, April 17th

“Everywhere is My Office”                                                                                       9 am – 10:30

This 90 minute presentation is all about using mobile technology in your real estate business.  We will discuss:  the new real estate client – the e-Consumer – and what they expect out of you as their agent; the available options in hand-held devices to keep you in step with today’s tech-savvy buyers and sellers; how a Smartphone can help you stay on top of your business, no matter where you are; review must-have accessories to help you work smarter, not harder; and how to manage your transactions with mobile technology.

The Newest / Latest / Greatest Technology Out There!                                              10:30 – 12:00

In this forum style class you will walk away with so many ideas!  As this is a constantly growing, ever-changing field we will cover a wide variety of topics, options and ideas that today’s real estate professional must be aware of and start learning.  Some of the concepts covered include, but are not limited to: creating a technology plan, review the new e-PRO designation being offered by NAR, websites and your presence in the on-line world, domain marketing, email hosting and branding, blogging (the biggest thing to hit the real estate world since leaving MLS books!), communicating with the Millennium Generation, portable infrared printers, digital photography, Bluetooth devices and more.

Real Estate Fundamentals for REALTORS® (Palm & Windows Operating devices)           1 – 4 pm

This three hour class is a “get to know your device” type of course.  It shows agents how to navigate around the device, the 6 different ways to input information, how to look up information with just a thumb (very helpful while driving!), how to “set up” their contacts, where to store information the easiest (do you put it under your calendar or Memos or Task?), and some “Tips & Tricks” about getting the most out of the device.  Dick will review some basic ways for agents to implement contact management and time management systems to better organize their business.

e-PRO Workshop                                                                                                      4 – 4:45 pm

This Workshop provides invaluable insight into the e-PRO certification course, the only technology certification course offered by the National Association of REALTORS.  Attendees will not only learn about the online course, but will also receive numerous beneficial technology tips that they can apply immediately to their real estate business.

All attendees will qualify for a special offer from the National Association of REALTORS.  You will receive a coupon for a $25 discount on the cost of the program and get an extended time period to compete the designation requirements.  Visit http://DickBetts.certifiedeprotrainer.com to learn more.  Please note:  The e-PRO course is recognized as 15 hours of elective credit or 1 Broker credit by the PA REALTORS Institute and in the designation requirements for CRS (Certified Residential Specialist), ABR (Accredited Buyer Representative) and CIPS (Certified International Property Specialist).

Friday, April 18th

Beyond Fundamentals of PDA’s & Smartphones for REALTORS                               9 am - Noon

We will go “Beyond the Basics” to show you, the Real Estate Professional, how to use their device as a Real Estate Management Tool.  By learning all the ends and outs of the “Memo” and “Task” programs you are provided with more weapons to attack the cluttered parts of your life.  Also learn valuable shortcuts and tips to get the most out of your investment.  Learn how to set up and store Real Estate Templates to simply track the details of your new clients, Listings and Pending Contracts.

Smartphones for REALTORS                                                                                         1 – 4 pm

The Smartphone class is more about discovering the “Bells & Whistles” of your device.  You will have more than 20 tips and a handful of programs beamed directly to your device.  We will also review third-party software programs (including how to stop using those expensive wireless cards!), show you the six different ways to dial phone numbers and explain all the options available thru the Bluetooth capability.  We will also review email tips and teach you how to turn your Smartphone into a fax machine!  In this class you will learn how to put your office in the palm of your hand by using the Smartphone to perform real estate tasks while you are out of the office!
